Rocky Mountain Rush Move to Vancouver

Just hours removed from making a significant trade, the Rocky Mountain Rush have announced they are making a move—that is, to Vancouver.

The team will still be known as the Rush, which recently pulled the trigger on a deal to send Nathan Choi to the Southwestern Ontario Brewers for Christina Chin.

Building on Success

The new—and hopefully improved—Vancouver Rush will look to improve on their 2023 season. The team is coming off a successful campaign where it finished first overall in the regular season with a 10-4 match record.

The Rush fashioned identical 5-2 records at both the Eastern and Western Splits, but couldn't find the secret sauce in the playoffs, going 2-2 and being eliminated in the final four by the Prairie Pronghorns in a 5-game battle.

Draft Strategy and Outlook

This off-season, the Rush will hold the 6th draft pick in each round, but we will see if they stay there. Last year, the Rush traded back in the draft from 5th to 8th to select Alex Walker and Casey Rodgers back-to-back.

For Forsythe, who is also the returning Rush manager, the draft is an opportunity to restack their roster. The move to Vancouver should prove to be a positive event heading into the 2024 season.
