Rush Trade Nathan Choi to Brewers for Christina Chin

The Southwestern Ontario Brewers are excited to announce the acquisition of Nathan Choi from the Rocky Mountain Rush. In exchange, the Brewers have sent Christina Chin to the Rush.

Nathan Choi Joins the Brewers

Choi, who was drafted 21st overall by the Rush, had an outstanding year in 2023. His impressive performance included:

  • Player of the Match: 3 occasions
  • Points: 312 for, 270 against
  • Games record: 15 wins, 7 losses in 11 matches

Choi helped propel the Rush to a first overall finish with 37 games won against 22 losses, plus 10 match wins and four match losses. The Rush fared well in the 2023 playoffs, finishing in the top four with a 2-2 record, with Choi playing a crucial role in their playoff run.

Christina Chin Heads to the Rush

Going the other way is the dynamic and athletic Christina Chin, who distinguished herself during the Eastern and Western Splits, as well as the playoffs.

The 25-year-old was drafted 3rd overall by the Brewers and played in 17 matches in 2023 with the following stats:

  • Games record: 14 wins, 20 losses
  • Points: 448 for, 447 against

In the playoffs, where the Brewers went 1-2 and were eliminated, Chin was integral to a Brewers team that fought hard. This included their final round robin loss to Nathan Choi's Rush, where the two teams battled down to the wire in a thrilling five-game match.

Looking Ahead

The trade will no doubt provide a spark to both teams coming into the 2024 season. Both players bring proven experience and will be key contributors for their new teams.
