The revamped Northern Rollers dominated the 2024 Eastern Split with a 7-2 record, led by outstanding performances from Jessica Kawamoto and Ryan Torresin.

After a so-so 2023 season, the revamped Northern Rollers came out gunning at the 2024 Eastern Split, topping the table with seven wins against just two losses.

Roster Overhaul

Joining returnees Jessica Kawamoto and Corey Osborne were several key additions:

  • Matty Stodola (from Pronghorns)
  • Casey Rodgers (from Rush)
  • Ryan Torresin (4th overall pick, 2024)
  • Tara Di Giuseppe (19th overall, 2024)

Standout Performances

Kawamoto and Torresin were superb in all nine matches, each posting impressive statistics:

  • Jessica Kawamoto: 14-4 record, 4 Player of the Match awards
  • Ryan Torresin: 14-4 record, 1 Player of the Match award

The supporting cast also contributed solid performances:

  • Casey Rodgers: 9-9 record
  • Matty Stodola: 7-7 record, 1 Player of the Match
  • Corey Osborne: 2-2 record

Eastern Split Highlights

The Rollers, capably managed by Corey Sigvaldason, bookended their dominant Eastern Split with statement victories.

They opened with a clean sweep of the Vancouver Rush and capped the Eastern Split with a thorough 4-0 drubbing of a very strong Southwestern Ontario Brewers team.

The 7-2 record positioned the Rollers as one of the most improved teams heading into the playoffs.
